GEORDIE maths teacher Chrissy Rouse is kicking-off the summer holidays in style as he heads to Brands Hatch for the third round of the Pirelli National Superstock Championship.

The reigning champion has just broken up from school for the year and is looking forward to the first of this season’s back-to-back racing weekends as he tackles the iconic  GP circuit this weekend before heading to Thruxton for Round Four next week.

Last time out, Rouse banked two thirds at Knockhill to get his championship defence up and running and with two more races at the Kent track this weekend, he is keen to collect more silverware for himself and the GR Motosport team.

This weekend will be the first time since the end of 2019 that full crowds have been allowed back, which is something else Rouse believes will make the event special

“I’m excited about the weekend and I’m really pleased that we will have a full capacity crowd at last!” he said. “I really love Brands Hatch, it’s a great race track and I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in.

“This weekend will be the first of a number of back to back weekends on the calendar this season and it’s perfectly timed with the summer holidays!

“The championship is incredibly tight  and competitive this year but it will be business as usual for us.. get the bike set up and then give it 100 per cent on race day.”

Practice gets underway on Friday, followed by qualifying and the first race on at 3.30pm this Saturday, July 24 with the second race at 3pm on Sunday.
