CHRISSY Rouse will be looking to challenge at the front this weekend as he heads to Brands Hatch for two Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship races.

The series makes its first visit of the season to the iconic Kent track this weekend, utilising the shorter Indy circuit for two 24-lap races.

And Rouse, who scored two sixths and a seventh place in the three opening races at Donington Park earlier this month, is keen to climb higher up the order in his second event since joining the BMW by IMR team.

In a championship which boasts its strongest grid for many years the 22-year-old Newcastle University student has his eyes firmly on getting a strong qualifying position to help him get away with the frontrunners in both races.

“I’m looking forward to the weekend. We’ve got two races which will give us a chance to challenge for some strong results with the by IMR BMW,” he said.

“I’m wanting to get stuck in with the front group and hope to improve my championship position. I’m seventh at the moment, but there are lots of points up for grabs this weekend so two strong finishes could give me a good boost.”

As he heads to a track which he has always enjoyed,  Rouse is up for the challenge and knows he is in for two exciting races.”

“I really enjoy the Brands Hatch Indy circuit, and it always brings mega-tight racing,” he added. “Superstock 1000 is incredibly competitive this year and I’m sure it’s going to make for some great racing.”

Rouse and the BMW by IMR team will be out on track twice for free practice this Friday, April 13 ahead of qualifying and race one on Saturday, with the second race on Sunday afternoon.
