After finally finishing his final exams at Newcastle University where he has been studying Maths, Rouse is excited to be able to focus solely on the racing for the remainder of the season.

And following his third place at Oulton Park last time out where he climbed to fourth in the championship, the Geordie is determined to be back on the podium this weekend – preferably on the top step.

“We’ve had a long six week break since the last round, so I’m really excited to be back this weekend,” he said. “After Oulton I had a few weeks of final exams, and once they were finished I went out to the Isle of Man TT with our team principal Ian Moffitt, my team-mate Jordan and my girlfriend Emily for a few days.

“It’s been great to have a chance to unwind but I’ve really missed riding, so I just can’t wait for the weekend to get here.

“At Oulton, I led the race for the first six laps so I was a little disappointed with third, just because I really wanted the win. So this week I’d love to be able to make amends there.

“I have a good track record at Snetterton. It’s a fast circuit and I’ve won there several times so I’m confident we can have a good race. The team has been working really hard during the break and I genuinely believe we can be quick from the start of the weekend.

“I definitely want to be back up fighting at the front again, and it would be fantastic if I can get my first win for BMW by Team IMR on Sunday.”
