CHRISSY Rouse is looking forward to returning to perhaps his favourite track on the Pirelli National Superstock Championship calendar this weekend as the series heads to Cadwell Park.
Just days after a two-race weekend at Donington Park, the series has swept across the country to the unique Lincolnshire track for one race on Sunday afternoon.
The 2.18mile twisty and undulating circuit is a favourite with riders and fans alike and features the iconic ‘Mountain’ where the machines famously can be seen jumping and flying lap after lap.
Last season, the Lincs track was missing from the shortened calendar but it returns in 2021 to its now traditional August spot, much to the delight of the fans.
For Rouse, this will hopefully be an opportunity to keep pushing forward and collect more points aboard his GR Motosport Kawasaki, at a circuit which has always been his favourite on the calendar.
“I’m excited for this weekend, Cadwell Park is such a fantastic track to race,” said the defending champion.
“We didn’t attend Cadwell in the shortened 2020 season and I was really disappointed not to come here, so it’s a welcome return and I’m looking forward to a great weekend.
“There’s not been a lot of time between Sunday’s race and when we get out on track for the first time on Friday, but my crew chief Danny has been working hard to improve out bike set up. I’ve spoken to him on the phone this week I’m confident with the direction we are going.
“I’m hoping we can have a great weekend. I’ve always loved Cadwell, it’s an amazing place and everyone really seems to love it so hopefully I can have a great race and put on a good show for the fans.”
Rouse’s weekend begins at 10.20am on Friday, August 20 with the first of two free practice sessions. Qualifying takes place at 11.15am on Saturday followed by the 15-lap race at 3pm on Sunday.
