THE Halsall Racing Suzuki team’s annual trip to Cadwell Park ended early as Bennetts British Superbike Championship rider Chrissy Rouse crashed out of race one.

The Geordie suffered a high-speed off at Hall Bends in this afternoon’s first race and was taken to hospital with a suspectd broken left hand, broken right wrist and concussion.

After qualifying 20th for today’s first race at the Lincolnshire track, the 22-year-old Maths graduate had made up four places and was running in 16th spot when the crash happened on lap four.

Rouse was taken to the medical centre and then moved to a local hospital for treatment, but was released the same evening and ordered home to rest.

“I’m very disappointed and two fractured hands wasn’t what I wanted from today, but I’ve got to be pleased the injuries weren’t any worse,” he said.

“I’m going to try and have a bit of down time at home and see how I go. I want to be back out for Silverstone if possible but we will just have to see.

“Massive thanks to everyone who’s messaged me – I can’t reply to everything but the support means so much. Hopefully I’ll be back out soon.”
