DEFENDING Pirelli National Superstock champion Chrissy Rouse heads to Donington Park this weekend looking for two strong results to help him climb up the points table.

The Geordie maths teacher currently sits in joint sixth position after a tough start to the season but is keen to turn things around with two more races this weekend.

The championship is heading to Donington Park’s 1.979mile National Circuit, a track which Rouse likes and enjoys riding and one where he hopes he can power his GR Motosport Kawasaki back onto the podium.

After getting some track time on his practice bike at two different circuits since the last round at Thruxton earlier this month, Rouse is keen to get back on track this Friday morning and begin chasing results.

“I’m really looking forward to racing this weekend at Donington Park National,” he said. “It’s a great circuit, you get all the best parts of Donington then you get to skip the slow, boring part!

“The championship is really heating up and going into the round in joint sixth, I’m hoping for a strong showing and hopefully moving up the order.

“We’ve done two trackdays on my practice bike since Thruxton and I’m hoping we will benefit from what we have tried and tested.”

Rouse’s weekend gets underway on Friday, August 13 with two free practice sessions – 11am and 3.50pm – followed by qualifying at 11.55am on Saturday and race one at 3.40pm. The final race of the weekend starts at 2.40pm on Sunday.
