CHRISSY Rouse is keen to secure two solid race results this weekend as the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship moves to Silverstone.
Aboard the Crowe Performance BMW S1000RR, Rouse is looking for a big points haul in a bid to move back into the championship lead.
Currently trailing Honda’s Tom Neave by just five points, the Geordie maths teacher is second in the standings and knows every point is vital as the season heads towards the half-way point.
“I’ve not really had much experience at Silverstone National circuit because when we first used it in 2018 I was out with injury and then last year I had a mechanical problem in the first race and then I was wiped out in the second,” he said.
“I do like Silverstone and because it’s quite short you end up getting a lot of laps in during practice which is great for getting the bike set up.
“This weekend we are using a new Pirelli tyre which will give us a little bit of work to do in terms of set-up but we’ve a good idea where to start and the short laps should help.
“We have two races here and I really need to be bringing home as many points as I can. I’m only five points off the championship lead and with just three rounds left, points are vital. I’m looking forward to what should be a great weekend.”
Rouse’s first 24-lap race will take place at 3.05pm on Saturday afternoon following free practice on Friday, with the second scheduled at 1.55pm on Sunday.
